Coach Tommy Thompson was a man with a dream. He dreamed of coaching a football team that would win a state championship. But he didn't just want to win any state championship. He wanted to win it with a team of boys from Sequoyah High School, a small school in rural Oklahoma.

Sequoyah High School is a school with a long and proud tradition. It was founded in 1908 by the Cherokee Nation, and it has been serving the Native American community ever since. The school has a rich history of academic and athletic success, but its football team had never won a state championship.

Coach Thompson knew that it would be a challenge to win a state championship with a team from Sequoyah. The school was small, and the football program was underfunded. But Coach Thompson was determined to give his boys the best chance to succeed.
