About the Author

Nujeen Mustafa is a Syrian refugee and human rights activist. She was born in Aleppo, Syria, in 1999. She was injured in a bombing in 2013, and she has been using a wheelchair ever since. In 2015, she traveled from Turkey to Europe in a wheelchair, raising awareness of the plight of Syrian refugees along the way. She is the author of the book Syrian Girl: A Story of War and a Plea for Peace.
