Early Life and Education

Sonia Maria Sotomayor was born on June 25, 1954, in the Bronx, New York City. Her parents, Juan and Celina Sotomayor, were Puerto Rican immigrants who instilled in their daughter a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for education.
