About the Author
Art Spiegelman is an American cartoonist, comics artist, and writer. He is best known for his graphic novel Maus, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Special Achievement in 1992. Spiegelman was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1948. He is the son of Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust. Spiegelman grew up in the United States and began drawing comics at an early age.
