Spiegelman's journey begins in the aftermath of the Holocaust. His parents, Vladek and Anja, were Polish Jews who survived the Nazi concentration camps. Art was born in Stockholm in 1948, and the family emigrated to the United States when he was two years old. Spiegelman grew up in a home filled with the ghosts of the Holocaust. His parents' experiences had a profound impact on him, and he began drawing comics as a way to process his own feelings about the past.

In My Life in Comics, Spiegelman tells the story of his life through a series of interconnected vignettes. He writes about his childhood, his parents, his marriage, his children, and his work. The book is full of humor, heartbreak, and insight. Spiegelman is a master storyteller, and he uses his art to explore the complexities of the human condition.

My Life in Comics is a must-read for anyone who is interested in comics, memoirs, or the history of the Holocaust. It is a powerful and moving book that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
