Materials You'll Need:

  • 1 skein of worsted weight yarn in navy blue
  • 1 skein of worsted weight yarn in white
  • A pair of size 8 knitting needles
  • A tapestry needle
  • A pair of scissors

Abbreviations:

  • K: knit
  • P: purl
  • CO: cast on
  • BO: bind off
  • St: stitch
  • Sts: stitches

Instructions:

  1. CO 60 sts in navy blue yarn.
  2. K all sts for 1 row.
  3. Change to white yarn and k all sts for 3 rows.
  4. Change to navy blue yarn and k all sts for 1 row.
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 for a total of 10 stripes.
  6. Change to white yarn and k all sts for 1 row.
  7. Change to navy blue yarn and k all sts for 3 rows.
  8. BO all sts.

Finishing:

Sew the side seams of the tea cosy together.

Embroider a badge or other embellishments onto the front of the tea cosy, if desired.
